  Day 3: November 25, 2022 Stillwater Area School District Q Comp Plan 4 Components: Individual goal setting New this year!  Each educator meets with their building instructional coach to develop an individual SMART goal. Learning cohorts/Professional development New this year! Each educator submitted a professional development interest survey in September.   Day 2: November 18, 2022 Forest Lake School District Q Comp Plan 4 Components: PLC Each educator is required to join a PLC and meet for 180 minutes each month. Regulations are strictly enforced. Educators who miss a PLC meeting must review the notes and write a makeup reflection. Note-taking, minutes and attendance are also required for each meeting.  Teacher Evaluations All educators must have 3 observations throughout the year. This includes a pre-observation plan and meeting, as well as a post-observation reflection and meeting. Principals and peer coaches evaluate staff using the Danielson rubric. They must have a minimum rating of “basic” in all domains to receive their Q Comp money.  New educators are required to have 4 observations during their first year in the district. 3 observations are with their principal and 1 is with a peer coach.  Tenured educators who are not on “high cycle” must have 3 peer coach observations each year.  Tenured educators w...

Day 1: Review of the Minnesota Department of Education Q Comp Requirements and Guiding Principles According to the Department of Education website, the purpose of the Quality Compensation Program is to: Recruit and retain highly qualified teachers Encourage highly qualified teachers to undertake challenging assignments and support teachers’ roles in improving students’ educational achievement Provide incentives to encourage teachers to improve their knowledge and instructional skills  The 4 core components of the program are: Career Advancement Options Gives teachers opportunities to have formal leadership roles Teacher leaders act as change agents and seek to build capacity in colleagues  Roles include: instructional coach, literacy and math specialist, data coach, equity coach, mentor, PLC leader, peer reviewer, site team leader.  These leadership roles must be focused on facilitating professional development specific to individual sites and must focus on helping staff ...
