Day 2: November 18, 2022

Forest Lake School District Q Comp Plan

4 Components:

  1. PLC

    1. Each educator is required to join a PLC and meet for 180 minutes each month. Regulations are strictly enforced. Educators who miss a PLC meeting must review the notes and write a makeup reflection. Note-taking, minutes and attendance are also required for each meeting.

  2. Teacher Evaluations

    1. All educators must have 3 observations throughout the year. This includes a pre-observation plan and meeting, as well as a post-observation reflection and meeting. Principals and peer coaches evaluate staff using the Danielson rubric. They must have a minimum rating of “basic” in all domains to receive their Q Comp money.

      1. New educators are required to have 4 observations during their first year in the district. 3 observations are with their principal and 1 is with a peer coach.

      2. Tenured educators who are not on “high cycle” must have 3 peer coach observations each year.

      3. Tenured educators who are on “high cycle” (once every 3 years) must have 2 peer coach observations and 1 principal observation.

  3. Individual Student Achievement Goal

    1. Each educator must meet with their peer coach and PLC to create an individual student achievement goal. This goal can be modified anytime in the first two cycles (September through early March). If the educator meets their goal, they’ll receive $200 at the end of the school year.

  4. Building Goal

    1. During fall inservice, the building teams meet to design a SMART goal for the school as a whole. If the building meets their goal, each educator receives $100.
